Cast heat resistant high performance rolls for heat treatment and thermal processing applications in the steel and stainless steel industry

Abstract of the online-seminar

The high stresses and hot corrosive gas environment faced by rolls used in roller hearth furnaces for reheating and heat treatment purposes in the steel and stainless industry necessitate high elevated strength and oxidation resistance as principal functional requirements.

Tailor made centrifugally cast heat resistant alloys based on proper understanding of solidification, metallurgy and intelligent alloying of elements enable realization of increased strength and oxidation resistance compared to conventional alloys.

Using advanced high performance alloys, operators and designers of such furnaces can realize substantial process benefits like for e.g. the ability to realize longer component life, higher process temperatures and increased reliability along with energy savings and thereby contribute towards a more sustainable high temperature process operation.

This webinar aims to provide the  audience with materials selection guidelines.
